The main objectives of the Welfare Benefits advice project are to provide a dedicated service for Carers: offering advice, support and assistance with all aspects of Welfare Benefit issues.
We want to ensure that advice provision is available to all Carers over 18 years of age living in Bolton so that they are able to make informed choices about the options open to them, and that the complexities of the Welfare Benefits system does not form barriers to positive life changes.
Visits are offered to older Carers over the age of 65 who are registered or willing to become registered at initial contact with Bolton Carers Support.
Home Visits take place mainly on: Mondays and Tuesdays between 9.00a.m. – 3.30p.m.
Office appointments are available mainly for Carers under 65 and usually take place on Wednesday mornings.
Appointments need to be booked in advance.
We have also recently been successful with an additional small amount of funding from Bolton CVS giving us the opportunity to extend the Home Visiting service identifying Carers who are in greatest need of a home visit due to their caring responsibilities.
